Need to Know

This trail from Ferguson to the Pi Trail as of this publication must be walked. Sections here are ridden at your own risk.

Description

This trail goes from Ferguson Lake Road to the west, terminating at the Scary, Burro Byway intersection. The western end is a nice place for a hike to explore the old site of a turquoise mine and the interesting rock shelter to the west.

At Ferguson Lake Road, you can park if you like. From this road, you'll go about 1/2 to the west and cross three large deep washes. You'll likely have to walk these sections. At the first wash you come to the Medallion trail where you can go right or left.

Two more deep wash crossings and you come to the Pi Trail Intersection. You can go left or right.

Go straight for a fun drop into a deep wash which has a fun trail. It will soon climb out up on the flat rock field with nice views. You then come to the intersection of the Bonzai trail. You can go downhill on this fun trail or continue to the intersection of the upper Cistern Road and the junction of Scary and the Burro Byway.
