Description

It is now possible to ride across the Bass Lake dam so this trail is accessible from either side of the lake. You can climb the singletrack or take the Central Camp fire road to the top. The fire road makes this a popular destination of downhill bikes that want to shuttle.

There are basically three sections of the trail. The fire road crosses the trail in two places breaking it up. This makes it easy to ride one or all three sections of the trail.

The upper section has a little bit of climbing at the beginning with some great flowing singletrack in the middle. The end of this section is a little technical and fairly steep.

The middle section has some wonderful rock gardens that are fun both climbing and descending. This will challenge intermediate riders and by a lot of fun for experienced riders.

The lower section is just a fun descent. It is fast and it flows very well. There are a couple of sections that have some rocks but nothing to bad. A great place to develop technical skill on a mountain bike, especially since you can use the fire road to go up.

Road up Central Camp road to the first crossing to check it out. Gnarly run but very rutted out in spots. 6.6mi — 2h 00m

Trail was good all natural with water flow and ruts. The red dirt is slick but not bad due to the recent moisture.
