Description

Straightforward connection between a main staging area and a neighborhood cul de sac. There is a fork toward the west that is unlabeled that could throw someone off eastbound. Tavan is the right branch this direction.

Together with Orchard Trail, Tavan provides a relatively rare for the East Bay two-mile long gentle ride on wide fire road with one short, steep section that is of the type useful for someone new to mountain biking to give it a try. Another like it is the western portions of Old Briones Road Trail and Valley Trail combined on the other side of Briones but those are more remote from where anyone lives.
