Description

Nelson's Trail #672 can be accessed FS Road 381 via Gold Camp Road or from St. Mary's Trail.

It is a BRUTAL climb over the ridge (11,000ft) which leads to Mt. Rosa (11,504-foot/3,506 m). The descent is very technical with large rock gardens (>24"), Pike's granite scree, and high grades. It is a means to an end, used to access Foresters Trail / Jones #701 or Pipeline Trail #668.

Other options include Gold Camp Road or find a friend to shuttle up to FS 379 via Old Stage Road.
