This section of Wilson Ridge gets back into some singletrack. It's a nice way to end a ride here - with downhill.
Finding the start of this trail is tricky from Loose Mtn. Road - FSR 4097
. There are a few intersections with no signage or blazes. If you're headed south from Middle Wilson Ridge
, stay right at the first intersection (where 4097 drops to the left). If you're coming up 4097 from Maple Sally Road, take a left at this first intersection from the bottom. Stay right at the next fork. The left goes up toward Adams Mtn. Just past this, the road goes through a field and straight into the woods...finally, some singletrack. The trail drops quickly into a fast, fun, rocky descent. Rated intermediate, most of this trail is not too technical, but there are a handful of challenging areas including small rock gardens and and a few slabs.
The terminus is at Brown Mountain Beech Rd., across from a very scenic section of the Wilson Creek Wild & Scenic River.
