There is one tricky junction where a more prominent cow trail turns south, but look for the blue blazes and rotting posts with "TR 41" carved into them to keep you on track.

The west lobe of the long-forgotten Tony Marquez Trail deserves to be revived.

Rideing it clockwise is the most approachable option: When the CDT: Hopewell to Lagunitas (CDT Section 30) trail veers north, Tony Marquez continues west along the wide logging road that has returned to singletrack for another half-mile or so, before pinching down to a flowy trail through the woods.

The trail then climbs through the rocks to gain a high ridge line and a few prominent viewpoints perfect for a picnic before descending and wrapping back around to the CDT on decommissioned two-track traversing alpine meadows choked with wildflowers.
