Description

This is just a standard-issue East Bay fire road. It continues as a singletrack lollipop to the west that is not legal to ride. It's worth stashing your bike for a quick side trip on foot if you like geographically unusual plant communities. The trail is named for a manzanita-dominated assemblage on the knoll at the end of the ridge in an area that is otherwise oak savannah for miles around.
