This trail passes beneath the dense foliage of the Forestale Lattecaldo ("Forest of Hot Milk"). How the forest got that name, I don't know, although the trail is within the province of Ticino, Switzerland's Italian-speaking region with its claimed Mediterranean climate.

The steep climb and descent at the start are on doubletrack and thereafter the trail turns to singletrack. For a moment, it goes into the outskirts of the village of Caneggio. It is never technically difficult except just at the northern end where it crosses a creek before ending at the via Cantonale just outside the village of Bruzella.
