Description

Starting on the south end, park at the Red Canyon Trailhead. For the first mile the singletrack leads throug a gently sloping small canyon, later a bit steeper to a ridge. Following this ridge to the southern rim of Losee Canyon (You can shorten 0.5 mi and a bit of elevation if you skip Brayton Point at Rich Trail #3092). Leaving the ridge to the north the trail leads downward into the upper part of Loose Canyon; signpost (Jct. Loose Canyon Trail #3090 to your left).
The trail winds through the stunning scenery of the red rocks and old-growth Ponderosa pines before ending at the Casto Canyon Trail on the north end.

Along the way, there are many great viewpoints including Brayton Point, Little Desert, Black Rock, Mexican Hat, and Lon's Knoll. Pack a lunch or a snack to enjoy at one of these many great overlooks.

The trail is well-marked, and keep an eye open for directions signs at the trail junctions.
