Description

This is one of the most fun dirt roads you'll ever ride. It is a slightly descending route heading northwest (as mapped), following the old water course of the High Line Aqueduct (and overlapping the High Line Aqueduct Road after mile 1.68) that served the orchards that once lined these hills. Lower Workout (along with Upper Workout) are both best accessed near the headwaters of the Santa Ana River via Santa Ana Canyon Rd.

The decommissioned Greenspot bridge has been limited to non-motorized vehicles only, and is a beautiful addition to this ride. The trail can be ridden by itself, in conjunction with Upper Workout, or linked to a longer ride going through the Mill Creek/Mentone wash area, as well as Crafton Hills Trail Network.
