Description

Once you find your way from the cell towers over to the point of the ridge, this trail gets dramatically more challenging. There are two routes down the right side of the first cliff band. The farther right of the two is trickier, but less committing than the straight line. In case you're wondering, yes, local legends have ridden off the diving board-esque edge of the cliff (landing beyond the small tree).

The trail then stays left of the second rock formation, wrapping the east side down a set of very chunky rock ledges. At this point, the trail has been deteriorated by the relentless rains of June 2023. Pick your way down the eroded rocks which funnel back into the trail below. From this point, the route passes some old foundations as it continues towards UCCS. There are a handful of spicy rock features and tight squeezes to navigate through this portion. You'll know you're at the bottom when you see the wooden exercise structures in a clearing. Turn right to visit UCCS, or left to wind through overgrown bushes into the neighborhood.

My favorite new trail! Fun drops... fun chunk... has a giant drop over a tree... we didn't even think about doing that... I've done the Floyd Hill… 3.2mi — 1h 30m
