Family Friendly The paved portion of the trails make for easy family rides along a wide path.

Description

Starting at the Briargate community, this trail winds behind homes on a mix of dirt and paved trail. The paved section of Cottonwood Creek Trail has been extended east and north from Frank Castello park, through the Powers Blvd underpass. (The severely eroded section has been eliminated.)

The dirt singletrack continues behind homes until it crosses Woodman at Austin Bluffs. Multiple access sites are available from the nearby communities.

From Woodman west, a portion of the trail is paved until Cottonwood Creek Park. Many runners and people walking their dogs are common along this portion, but the trail is wide and allows easy passing.

At Cottonwood Creek Park, the trail splits. Along the south side of the river the paved path continues. The north side of the trail is dirt. Again, many pedestrians and dogs can be encountered.

At Union Blvd, the north dirt path ends and only the south paved path continues to Academy Blvd.

The trail is now routed under Academy Blvd so there is no need to ride up to the light to cross Academy.
