Overview

A great way to ride in Ute without getting into too much tech!

Description

Starting from the HP parking lot off of Ute Valley Trail near the roundabout, head towards East Loop Trail (Black of Black & Blue). Very quickly you'll meet Black trail, hand a right to head west.

At mile 0.2, take the armored descent across the creek on your left onto East Loop Connector. After crossing, stay right to climb up to Ute Valley Regional Trail South, stay on the doubletrack at mile 0.4.

Easy pedal up the valley. There are some new trails but you'll stay on the doubletrack until mile 1.0, hang a left onto Ute Valley Regional Trail, Middle Connector to climb!

Quickly into your sandy climb, look left for Ute Flow Trail at mile 1.1. Follow the contour for a fast, fun time feeling like you're on a speeder.

At mile 1.6, there will be your first intersection, take the uphill choice to the right for Red Rover. Another intersection will be at mile 1.7, ignore it to stay straight on Red Rover.

Red Rover ends at mile 1.9 with a rock obstace through a fence. Take the gradual right onto a wider trail, Juniper Trail.

Juniper Trail ends at mile 2.5 at a four way intersection, look to your 10 o'clock position for Scrub Oak Path to keep climbing. A short, loud breather 0.4 miles later, you'll top out through a fence with several stone benches. Stay right around the benches and follow the fence onto Pine Ridge Trail.

Pine Ridge Trail will top out at 3 miles with a wide, smooth rock garden. Keep going straight to descend. At mile 3.6, mind a sharp right turn onto a narrow bridge. It can get congested here with other riders and hikers.

Keep your speed straight towards the Rockrimmon trailhead. At mile 3.7, there'll be a singletrack right turn uphill onto Yucca Path. Keep pedaling uphill to one of the best views in town.

At mile 4.2, you'll start descending. It will quickly narrow and you'll have two choices of ledges to hurl yourself off of. You can snake through it, but that's no fun. Keep your speed and continue straight on Yucca Path.

Mile 4.8, the trail will seemingly disappear. Stay straight to pass the intersection and you'll see the trail again as it will funnel you into an awesome feature. You're almost done!

You'll pop out onto Ute Valley Regional Trail, South, keep left. Take a right on the next intersection throught the chain gate. At mile 5, take a right onto a new doubletrack trail back to the parking lot. Pedal hard!
