Description

The land owner for the first portion of Tapia Canyon Rd. has closed his section of road to all riders, hikers, and equestrians. However this doesn't mean you can't still enjoy all the Tapia Canyon Rd Singletrack, you just have to access it using Wayside Canyon.

The beginning of this climb is pretty easy. It's your standard fire road but is a bit more rolling than Tapia Canyon Rd. which makes it more enjoyable and feels like less of a grind. After about 1.75 miles the trail turns 90 degrees to the right and gets steep but that last hill doesn't last very long.

Once you top out at the junkyard keep to the right and you'll begin descending towards Tapia Canyon Rd (bypassing the closure). Keep an eye out to the left and you'll see a little singletrack section that bypasses some of the dirt road and is steeper and more fun.

Keep to the left at the junkyard and you'll continue climbing on the Junkyard Trail.

Lower Tapia Canyon Rd. is closed. Please, respect the landowner's wishes! Don't ride up there anymore so that we don't lose access to the trails higher up. Ride Wayside Canyon instead.
