Overview

This loop can easily be knocked out quickly. Like most routes on Buffalo Mtn, it begins with a fire road climb and has good old school singletrack to finish it off.

Need to Know

The gate at the bottom of Briar Creek Road (FS 188) closes seasonally from the end of December to mid March.

Description

Starting at the bottom of Briar Creek Road (FS 188), climb for 3.7 miles until you reach the junction with Upper Briar Creek (TN-FSR4354). Follow this for 0.7 miles and stay left on Upper Briar Creek Spur (TN-FSR4354A). Follow this to the end and at the big open area look to the right for Number One.

Follow Number One for a mile down to the junction with Church Trail and Rustic Ridge. Continue on Rustic Ridge to the intersection with Church Trail and come back out on Briar Creek Road (FS 188). Take a right and descend down to the parking area.

History & Background

These trails have been in existence since the early 90s. Only recently due to the advocacy of many individuals with the old Northeast Tennessee Mountain Bike Association (now SORBA Tri-Cities) these legacy trails are now legal.
