Description

Part of the Raccoon Mountain Trail System, Switch Yard is a fast, flowing beginner singletrack. The trail features many fast sections, a few banked curves, and a log feature.

Trail can be accessed from the Connector Trail, Lower Chunky, or the intersection of the Grindstone Ridge Trail / Small Intestine trails. Parking is close by at the Switch Yard parking lot.

From the Connector Trail, the trail runs into the woods through some fast, flowing sections, heading towards the log feature. For those wanting to skip this feature, a high banked turn goes around it. As the trail exits the woods, Lower Chunky intersects. Once out in the open, TVA's Switch Yard can be seen (and heard) on the left. As the trail heads towards the end, the Small Intestine Trail can be seen on the right. A large wooden trail sign marks the end.
