Runored to have been built years ago by Doug Bradbury, it's a solid climb to a fabulous viewpoint!

The Kraken

Overview

Description

Start on Gold Camp Road just before the seven bridges trailhead, you'll see the entrance off to the right as it heads uphill. After a short, technical climb, the trail makes a sharp right turn to the east and continues uphill.

Just keep on climbing until you reach the saddle. Turn right at the saddle, follow the ridgeline and you'll be rewarded with a view of the entire canyon.

From here it's a moderately techy run down to High Drive and the start of Captain Jack's trail.

Getting forecast...

One of my favorites in Colorado Springs. Going from West to East, it's a cool climb through the forest. You get to the top and have one of the best views in the area. It's then a semi-technical descent down to High Drive, where you can pick up Captain Jacks. Apr 15, 2017
