The world famous Captain Jack's downhill.

The Kraken

E-Bikes Unknown

Features -none-

This is a true multi-use trail (hiking, mtb, horses, and moto's). Moto's have recently been let back on this classic trail so be on the lookout and keep your ears open for them.

The trail is wide singletrack, very fast, with just a few short uphill sections. There aren't any intersections to worry about.

Start at the top of High Drive heading North from the parking area. Roll it as fast as you like until you finally come out on Gold Camp Road by Tunnel #1.

Beware the gravel! When it's dry, the gravel can be quite deep and sandy. When it's moist and tacky, though, it's a hoot.

here is a good vid of the whole thing… Apr 5, 2018
Dry loose trail was a lot of fun. Love the jumps and banking turns. Not very technical but very fun fast downhill. (Once you make it too the trail head) I started at the lower trail head and rode up gold camp road to high drive, then the fun downhill back to the Jeep! May 7, 2018
I think Captain Jack's is a bit over-rated. It's extremely sandy with lloose, deep gravel along the way. I went up High Drive and then down Captain Jacks. To be fair, I'm a beginner (possibly advanced beginner) maybe this trail is above my skill level. I like somewhat of technical features going down and fast/flowy...and I just couldn't negotiate all the sand and deep gravel on this trail. Jul 22, 2018
