Stay out of the roped-off burned areas. DO NOT ride this after med/heavy rain! No night riding.

Overview

This ride sets you up for a great tour of Santiago's more popular trails and features. Lots of great views and optional double black drops and ridges to put a little lead in your pencil. It's not all DH as you'll be tested with some long-ish, punchy climbs worthy of a cold beer during or after the ride. The route can be done on any bike but leave your dual crown rig at home unless you want to suffer.

Need to Know

Be mindful of hikers, bikers and, equestrian riders.

Route has optional double black features, ride to your own ability or just send it!!!

Description

Park for free on the corner of N Cannon St and E Lexington Ave (be mindful/respectful of the neighborhood and its neighbors). The trailhead is just 40 short yards away on Cannon St.

Follow Santiago Creek Trail all the way up to Oak Trail till you reach the American Flag and The Three Drops. Follow Barham Ridge to Chutes Ridgeline and hold on to your butts to the bottom. After some easy pedaling through some nice dirt doubletrack, you'll connect back onto the paved Irvine Regional Park road and round the park heading east to Puma Ridge View Trail. Enjoy the panoramic views at the top and make your way down toward the Irvine Reginal Park Entrance. Take Willows Trail back to Santiago Creek Trail and back to your car.
