Overview

If you like a lot of climbing and a good 26+ mile route with a fun downhill singletrack, this is one of the easier routes around; for instance, it's as long as the Harding Truck Trail / Joplin Truck Trail / Santiago Truck Trail loop, but a lot less technical.

Description

A lot of the climbing occurs on the Blackstar Canyon Road/Black Star to Beek's portion of the route, followed by a steep climb up to Pleasants Peak and then a rolling traverse along the Main Divide Rd - Blackstar to Maple Springs. You then descend via The Motorway (Silverado Trail) to Santiago Canyon and return via paved road from there.

One of the great things about this loop is that, unlike Santiago and Harding, there is very little motor traffic and thus less dust during hotter times of the year. Just be careful of people on The Motorway descent.
