Overview

Expect great views of Norris Lake, some fun wide open doubletrack for laying the hammer down, and some semi-technical singletrack for twisty-flowy fun. A little something for everyone.

Need to Know

Watch for horses and other users of the area. Be mindful that people sometimes hunt in the area.

Description

Norris Watershed is a great place to ride after a rain. The trails drain well and you can expect it to be great almost any time unless it's actively raining.

From the parking lot, head past the old water wheel mills to Lower Creek Road for a small easy incline to the Hi Point Trail trailhead. Hi Point Trail starts with a long and easy ascent to the top of the ridge. Hi Point Trail is doubletrack from start to finish but it provides access to the more fun singletrack trails that make Norris Watershed great.

From the High Point, hang a right onto the Upper White Point Trail for a brief screaming downhill to continue onto Raccoon Run Trail, which links back up to Hi Point Trail via the Red Hill Trail. Continue north on the Hi Point Trail for a clockwise loop on Lakeside Loop Trail West and Lakeview Trail. Heading back south on the Hi Point Trail, stay right (west) to climb past the High Point to the start and top of Freeway Trail for a steep, technical descent toward the Hi Point trailhead where you turn right (west) back along the Lower Creek Road to the start.

This ride can be modified to shorten or extend the adventure.
