This course starts on a beach by Castaic Lagoon in the Castaic Lake State Rec. Area, then runs up into the hills overlooking the lake.

This was the official course for the NICA SoCal HS League "Dam the Torpedos" race course in 2016. Another race series called Over the Hump (OTH), which also held races here, uses a similar course to this one.

This old course starts near a beach next to Castaic Lagoon: a small lake below Castaic Lake. It runs around the east side of the rec. area on sidewalks and grass, then hits the dirt. It goes around a field, then runs up and down steep hills in a patch of pine trees. It crosses the main paved road and heads up a steep singletrack, which later on connects into Cutler Canyon Fire Road.

At the top of the very steep hill, it breaks off to the right on a hidden singletrack, which runs around some trees and crosses the fire road. The singletrack merges into The Grapevine, which takes you back down to the main Grasshopper Canyon Fire Road. It runs up to the end of the canyon and runs back down on Grasshopper Canyon Creek Trail along a creek. It opens back up to fire road, runs around a tree, then cuts back across a field into a fire road.

The fire road starts with quick steep uphills, then mellows out into rolling doubletrack towards the bottom. It crosses back across the paved road and hits the sidewalks through the grass. It then cuts across the field and hits more sidewalks and grass all the way back around to the finish line!
