DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multi-use, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for hikers, horses, and other cyclists. It is normally open in any weather, although it can close in extended periods of freeze / thaw during the winter.

Description

Longside starts near the Corn Mill Shoals parking area on Cascade Lake Road off of Corn Mill Shoals trail. It travels north where it connects with Twixt and ends at the intersection with Pine Tree.

If riding from south to north, it is mostly a mellow climb with a short downhill segment after a rocky and rooted double switchback. The trail is best enjoyed from north to south where the final half is a speedy downhill run with a few water bars and rock drops that one can use to get some airtime.
