Description

Nestled in the center of the Telegraph system with its flow trails, Skull Rock Trail is a steep and narrow challenge between Sidewinder to the north and South Rim Trail to the south.

Best ridden downhill, Skull Rock has a long section of gentle valley punctuated with short steep bedrock or gravel hills.

The southern end gets exciting as the trail plunges the steep inclines of Mancos shale and similar shale-y substances.

Check out the unusual profile of this trail.

This is called Skull Rock. Can be really loose on the final rock section in early season

Lots of loose, dirty sand. The crux is a very steep shaley section. Bedrock covered in talus debris is more slippery the more you brake! Grip and rip! 11.8mi
