Overview

This stretch from Denby Bay to Tompkins Bend is full of short, fast downhills followed by uphill battles at around 10% grade. This trail flows very well and requires more stamina than technique. Tompkins Bend Loop (Homestead Trail closes the loop) is flatter, and flows quickly.

This ride boasts scenic vistas and very well maintained trails.

This ride uses the Homestead Connector to return you to the Homestead trailhead of the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail - IMBA Epic.

Description

This ride begins immediately with roller coaster undulations, so you might want to take some time to warm-up the legs before starting. Once on the Tompkins Loop, your legs will get a chance to recover.

Returning on the Denby Bay Trail, there is a bridge that is lead into by a sharp right hand turn which tends to throw you toward the left edge of the bridge. Be careful!
