Access to TV Tower Road is provided by a small parking lot on the West side of Cuesta Pass on Hwy 101. The road is not anything to write home about, but a useful access route nonetheless. It was paved way too long ago - easily half potholes.

The climb to the top of Shooters is steady at 7-9% and completely doable if not much fun. Above Shooters, the road continues upwards at an increasingly steep angle until a welcome short downhill at mile 1.7, before becoming even steeper as it approaches the prominent TV antennae. A final flat traverse brings finishes at the Cuesta Ridge Botanical Area, and the top of Botanical trail.

Not mapped: TV Tower Road continues all the way out to Cerro Alto near Hwy 41, for a total of ~10 miles from Hwy 101.
