The Cliffrock Loop starts from the Upper Twin Buttes Trail. From Twin Buttes Trail take Upper Twin Buttes trail for a short distance (~1/2 mi) until it reaches an old railroad bed. Upper Twin Buttes continues up the railroad bed and the start of the Cliffrock Loop is located on the other side of the railroad bed. The trail winds its way up to some spectacular viewpoints.

Climb a bit more through a nice meadow before descending back to the railroad bed. Turn left and head down the railroad bed back to the start of the loop. This loop is most frequently ridden in a counter-clockwise direction.
