Description

From the parking lot just past the Giant gas station on Hwy 160 take the trail that ascends to the north. There are some unmarked roads/trails most of which are blocked off or have trail signs.

The trail mostly climbs, but there are some fun downhill sections. You'll end at a trail intersection with options for the Upper Twin Buttes Loop or the Cliffrock Loop.

After a short climb. You'll find winding, twisting banks and berms. A fast fun ride close to downtown Durango.

Rode this trail system for the first time today and absolutely loved it. It has all the features I hope for in a trail: long meandering and traversing climb, reasonable gradient w enough small steep and rocky sections to keep you on your toes, lots of flowing and meandering sections. Good mix of tree cover and exposed. Just awesome! I don’t understand the low overall ratings. Then again I ride a 29’er hard tail and hate Super technical stuff If you prefer long gentle climbs and flowing single track you’ll love this trail system. Jul 6, 2018
