Description

**Downhill-only trail**

The Big Mountain Trail drops 2,400 vertical feet with a 7% average grade. It offers wide-open straightaways, tight forested turns, small earthen tabletops, wooden bridges and amazing down-canyon views. Very little pedaling required.

From the tram access, the trail descends a scree-filled doubletrack trail in a series of steep switchbacks. Views from the top are breathtaking. After about two miles, the trail passes through mountain meadows, over several wooden bridges, then down another set of switchbacks through the pines. Alternative b-lines make the ride interesting.

The trail passes over Rothman Way, and intersects with Mid-Way Trail. Mid-Way Trail can be taken down the rest of the way, or alternatively Baby Thunder Trail can be taken down to the bottom of the park.

I prefer a trail/enduro bike over a DH setup on this trail.
