Description

This trail is for cheap people, those who really enjoy climbing, and/or purists who don't believe in lifts. From the parking lot for the Ehrwalder Almbahn bubble lift, this limited-traffic asphalt road climbs to the Ehrwalder Alm (those who are not cheap and/or don't enjoy climbing and/or aren't purists can take the bubble lift).

You really should climb the road though because views like the one from the top should be earned. The Ehrwalder Alm area is nestled between two mountain ranges above the town of Ehrwald. It features several restaurants and mountain huts.

If you are continuing on the Wettersteinrunde (Loop Around the Weather Rock) or the Gaistalbach Forest Road to the west, you'll enjoy a long descent through an even more picturesque valley offering plenty of solitude between the Wetterstein Mountains (to the north) and the Mieminger Kette Mountains (to the south).
