Description

This trail starts out at the end of Little Canyon, which you'd ride if you're coming from the Mag 7 trails. However, you can also get up here by driving or riding along Gemini Bridges road to the Gold Bar Rim Safari Rte (zoom in on the Hybrid layer to see that). You can get an SUV or truck to the Safari Rte and park at an obvious sandy "cul-de-sac" area 100 yards before the trail turns from sand to a rocky climb.

Gold Bar isn't a terribly technical route, but it's a sustained climb with some technical spots along the way. It's mostly a blue-black route, but less experienced or unfit riders will need to take their time and possibly walk a bit.

Use this trail to get to a great viewpoint on the edge of the cliff, looking out towards Arches National Park. From the viewpoint, advanced riders can choose to continue onto Gold Bar Rim and then to the Portal Trail back down to Potash Road (279).

Warning: Continuing along the Gold Bar Rim and Portal route requires big commitment, and very advanced skills.
