Description

This is a popular trail with bikers and hikers due to the lack of vehicle traffic and gentle grade of this old railroad route. Except for the eastern-most tenth of a mile, this is a wide and smooth trail. It can be ridden in both directions, but this trail is best used by bikes as a return route from the bottom of the South Fork Trail. If you choose to ride downhill, keep your speed below 15 mph.

The eastern (lower) end of the trail is very well marked and starts right next to the Fraser Flat bridge on the south side of the river. The western (upper) end is less obvious. About 1/3 mile south of the bridge on Old Strawberry Road, just past the last cabin, there is a USFS Carsonite signpost on the west (downhill, or right if you are traveling southbound) marking the trail.
