Description

The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewards have been hard at work and with the sponsorship of WTB. This trail was carved out of the hillside with a more gradual descent compared to the old OHV trail to the north.

The trail winds through the pines and firs much like the Sunrise Trail directly above. As the Sunrise Trail ends at Butcher Ranch Road, this trail starts to the left and parallels the road south a short distance. The original OHV trail will be to the right (north).

This trail is smooth, fast and narrow, so don't let your front tire drift too close to the edge. The best of the Butcher Ranch Trail (including "The Gully" and "The Waterfall") are below the junction.
