Mostly Dry, Some Mud, Fallen Trees - Some mud spots at bottom of Scott's. Fallen tree near the bottom of Scott's in the hairpin turn. Easy to avoid by cutting the very short corner. Casci has a few giant mud puddles you can barely go around History

Getting forecast...

Short loop with some big pay-offs!

Climbing up Casci road, there is Private Property so please be mindful of that.

This Featured Ride combines a sweet singletrack descent with a basic fire road climb. Plus, there are tons of options to extend this ride as much as you want. This is part of the whole "Pioneer" network of trails. It's also a recommended alternative to climbing back up Scotts Flat Lake Trail since riders come screaming down that trail, and it's best suited as a descent. Trust me, it finishes off with a fun stretch of Pioneer Trail!

Need to Know

While climbing up Casci (Ranch) Rd. there are plenty of turn-offs. Most are signed but some are not. just go with the flow, but I still recommend using the MTB Project MTB Project mobile app.

This ride is an awesome combination of work and play. It starts with a workout grind, and ends with a "pin-it" downhill trail.

Start out at the Harmony Ridge Market and head down The Scott's Flat Lake Trail. After that dumps out on Casci Ranch Rd. below, go left and start the uphill grind. The road starts as paved cement for about 1.5 miles before going to gravel and then eventually to dirt. After climbing up the road for about 5 miles, you'll intersect with Highway 20. Cross over the highway and pick up Pioneer Trail heading west, or left.

There are lots of trail markers along the way and even posted on some trees. Sometimes it's just a forestry logo and other times it's a directional sign. It's not easy to get lost as the trail always parallels the highway. At this point it's all downhill, so grab a tall gear and blaze down Pioneer Trail to the Harmony Ridge Market.

Fun downhill, but a Long slow grind back up the road. Part of the road is a super mud bog, not really rideable. 12mi — 1h 56m

We did this trail backwards because the app told us to use scotts flat to hwy 20 (We were camping at the lake). Glad we did go backwards because Casci road if going up is one tough ride - of course you don't get the fun part in the same way since you're going up what would be the end. The time on Casci was also very tough, alot of time looking at the app trying to figure out where we were and if we were going the right way. Pioneer portion of the trip was much more fun.
