“A singletrack trail providing access to Loafer Mountain.
”
The Loafer Mountain Trail begins by wandering through the tall pines and crosses a small stream. Shortly after this it intersects the Blackhawk Trail #084. Stay to the left. The trail continues on through the trees for about another mile where it meets the Bennie Creek Trail #071.
From this point on the trail becomes more challenging. A large section of the trail has been re-routed with switchbacks to lessen the grade and stop erosion. Please take the new trail and stay on it (don't cut the switchback corners). In the next 5 miles, it gains almost 2,100 feet. The view is definitely rewarding!
