Description

Desert Wash is the first loop in the Randall Henderson trail system. The trailhead starts at Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center. There is not charge for parking. The north side of the loop is much more difficult than the south side.

The north end follows a desert wash and is extremely sandy, punctuated by rock steps. The south end is on a ridge and is much less sandy. Most people continue on to the Cholla Loop and Canyon Loop to complete the 2.4 mile Randall Henderson Loop.
