Description

All the trails at CMSP are well marked with 1 foot tall, color-coded trail signs. With that said, head West out of trailhead parking lot staying in a westerly direction until about 0.3 miles. Take the left fork at the trail map sign.

Go about 0.1 miles south to the next trail intersection. Turn right heading West again for about another 0.1 mile. Again turn right and follow the trail to the next intersection, about 1.1 miles. Here you'll see Talon trail to the right. Continue past it and in about 100 yards there will be a trail to the left. Keep right.

This is the last intersection with a different trail. About 0.4 miles later, the trail forks but merges again after a short distance. You can take either fork. Within 100-200 meters of the end, there is a creek you must cross which will vary in depth depending on the season and recent precipitation. The trail completes the loop near the parking lot.

Icy on the north shady switchbacks, some mud and deep ruts, but always fun to get out in the winter. 3mi
