Description

The central section of Black Bear starts from a sometimes difficult to spot location along Rector-Eddie Road (J.E. Miller Road) and extends northward to a point where it dumps out on Laurel Summit Road. The northern section of Black Bear, signed as Expert branches off to the left just before reaching the road. The easiest north-south connection requires bypassing the northern Black Bear and using approximately 0.4 mile of Laurel Summit Road (open) to Locust Camp Road (gated).

The central section consists of level flowing singletrack with a few rounded embedded boulders. A few optional boulders and logs can be found along either side of the trail. A light rocky section is located near the intersection with Hemlock and the western leg of Black Bear.

Level, flowing condition typical of the south section of Black Bear. The INTRO ride doesn't encounter the pic north of here.
