Description

Hillside Trail is the more challenging of the two trails connecting Outer Limits Loop to Nara Park. It starts off with moderate, flowing singletrack, but after crossing the pipeline clearing turns right and transitions into a narrower, rougher segment. After crossing several small stream valleys over 19" wide bridges, it turns left at the intersection with a more moderate bypass trail before repeatedly making short, steep forays up and down the hill side over often root strewn ground before a final grunt up a short, steep hill to its high point where it rejoins the bypass at the intersection with Gonzo Trail and Edwards Trail.

From there, Hillside dives between them, and follows the ridge line on smoother, sweeping, gently downhill singletrack. After re-intersecting with Gonzo and Edwards, it drops back over the hillside, this time for a play of smooth, flowing trail. It climbs to the top of the ridge again at the ski trail, crosses over to meander smoothly along the other side of the hill past the sled hill and down to the Nara Park entrance.

There is now a new section that skips the old-school Edwards trail, a fun and flowy connector to the Competition loops.
