Description

North Hogsback begins at the Five Points Trailhead and ends at the Shale Flats Trail in Cloudland Canyon State Park's Five Points Trail System. It is very similar to the Tailings Run Trail in terrain and difficulty. Like Tailings Run, it weaves through and over old coal tailings and features lots of short, steep climbs and descents. You'll have to pace your momentum to hit the climbs in such a way that you don't lose it mid-climb and have to hike-a-bike the rest of the way up.

Since the old coal tailings now have trees growing on them, some sections are also rooty. It's not a difficult trail once you figure it out!
