There are lots of trails that connect to this route that do NOT allow bikes. Be sure to read trail signs if you go off-route.
Overview
Enjoy this balanced, flowy route with gorgeous battlefield views, some nice uphill sections, and lots of solitude. Access is free, quick, and easy making this a great after-work route.
Need to Know
The parking lot on Dyers Road is small and there's only room for 3 vehicles. If you continue straight (west) down Dyers Road, past the aforementioned parking lot, it will end at a large gravel parking lot. Park there and ride east on Dyers Road where you just came from to meet up with the trail origin I have marked.
Description
The Chickamauga Battlefield Park is very strict about which trails you can and can't ride bikes on. Since I frequent the park a lot, I've put together this route of known bike-accessible trails. It feels pretty balanced with uphill and downhill and if you ride it in the direction I've posted, there is a long uphill that will get your heart pumping, followed by some fun and fast flat / downhill sections.
History & Background
The Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is the oldest and largest of America's Civil War parks, encompassing several different sections of land both north and south of the Tennessee-Georgia border.
