Description

A great doubletrack trail within riding distance of downtown Lenoir. Beautiful views and dense forest with streams and small waterfalls make for a great ride.

Primary trail users are horseback riders, so please be respectful of these and other users. Some erosion due to horse traffic may be present.

The ride starts at a forest service gate and climbs steadily on a forest service road for approximately 4 miles. Beautiful views and sounds of flowing water and waterfalls are frequent along this opening section.

History & Background

This area and the trails were once a part of the Anita Alta Girl Scout camp. Prior to that, the entire area was heavily logged to provide raw material for the significant furniture industry once present in Caldwell County.
