The trail starts at the intersection of Oracopia and
Brain Wash Trail. It is the quickest way back to the Christian Service Center. It is mostly flat, with the most interesting section closest to the Cistern Road.
The most technical sections will be wash crossings. Walk these to be safe.
At about 100 yards, the trail goes down into a small wash. Go up the wash to rejoin the trail. It makes a little switchback to get up on a flat section. It will then be fun and flowing for the next mile.
At one mile, it crosses a major wash, then goes gradually downhill to the second wash crossing. After the second wash, it crosses a large parking area with the words "Hi Choppers" spelled out in rock. It is common to see choppers from the nearby military base fly over. So, the local campers made signage to greet them!
At mile 1.25, you are in the flats on a flowing trail that goes gradually downhill. At 2.0 miles, it narrows onto a small rocky bench and takes a narrow ramp into a wash. The ramp takes a hard right, then a left, so take it slow. You do not want to go off this ramp.
After crossing the wash, take the left branch of the trail and go up a draw, gradually climbing up to the Cistern Road and the end of the trail.
The best option here is to take a right onto the Cistern Road and head down to the
Zeek trail to reconnect with the rest of the trail system. You could also take Cistern back to the paved road and the Christian Service Center.
