Palmer is always special. I get especially lost all the time. Here's a simple tech route to help.
Start off Brenner Pl, you can park there if needed. Climb up the older pavilion parking lot to jump on
Greencrest Trail. Mile 0.6, take the left uphill switchback. At about 0.7 miles, you'll hit a dirt road, hang a right to the next dirt road, to take another right to join
Yucca Flats Connector heading west.
At roughly 1 mile, hang a left onto
Templeton Trail (Edna Mae) to start to beat down. At 1.75, stay right to stay on Templeton. Mile 2.15, continue left to stay on Templeton. At mile 2.62, the trail will start to descend. You'll turn left off of Templeton at mile 3 onto a connector to
Palmer Point Trail, take a left when you join.
The stables are at mil 3.6, take the downhill towards Paseo Rd., then left on the singletrack paralleling Paseo to the parking lot. Cross over at the gate to climb
Grandview Trail. At mile 4.15, you'll have your first doubletrack crossing with
Cheyenne Connector, stay on
Grandview Trail but remember this turn for later.
Before mile 4.8, have an eye for a random trail to the right down a drainage. It's easy to miss and it's East
Cheyenne Trail. Hang on as it's rowdy but fun. It will connect to another piece of Cheyenne after a short, punchy climb at mile 5.05. Stay right to keep climbing back to
Grandview Trail. at mile 5.25, turn right.
Next intersection is at mile 5.5, stay right.
Cheyenne Trail comes in at mile 5.9 on the right with a tight tollerance right switchback, blind corner drop. Here's where the fun begins. Take Cheyenne all the way around to mile 6.4 and continue uphill paralleing the dirt road towards
Grandview Trail.
At mile 6.8, you'll t-intsection with
Grandview Trail, take the right but all the way towards the lookout following the same path you did before but keep going past Cheyenne. Mile 7.3 will have you at on sidewalk, take the left towards the paved road. Have a snack while you can.
Mile 7.8, the road will turn north, but you'll continue east onto
Kinnickinnick Trail through some boulders next to a fence. You'll quickly be met with a rock garden but stay high to have a fun descent. Shortly into this trail, mile 7.95, it will offer a switch back descent left, take it to an exposed rocky traverse north.
Stay on
Kinnickinnick Trail and you'll have a road crossing at mile 8.9 over Paseo Rd.
Kinnickinnick Trail will dead end into
Greencrest Connector and then
Pawnee Ridge Connector. At mile 9.1, it get's tricky with a lot of intersections. Stay on the dirt road for a second and angle left-center to stay onto
Greencrest Trail Connector.
This will join with Little Moab at mile 9.3. At the end of Little Moab, mile 9.7, take the trail to the right/east down to the powerline. Take an immediate right at the doubletrack, mile 9.75, then left onto
Greencrest Connector shortly after.
Stay on
Greencrest Connector all the way back to the trailhead. Stay fast and loose!
