Need to Know

Like Forest Road #133, avoid when wet, the fine-grained coliche and mud won't be fun.

Description

This road is the traditional access route to the Tony Marquez (TR 41) – East Loop ( fs.usda.gov/recarea/carson/…), and offers opportunity to ride into remote areas where you're more likely to encounter elk and antelope than people.

Some of the road, especially the northern reaches, is unmaintained, eroded and faded, mostly used as an obscure means to reach cattle grazing lands by the local ranchers.

The grades are mellow after leaving Forest Road #133 as you head towards a plateau crossing some high elevation meadows, followed by a descent through oft-arid ponderosa forests back to the 133.
