Starting from Rt 198 Spencerville Road (parking in a gravel pull off near the intersection), enjoy a fast, low-grade downhill across the field before entering the forest. At the first set of fun rollers, keep your eyes peeled for the old farm trash on the side of the trail. At about the 1.25-mile mark, you'll come to an intersection with the Right Fork Trail (this out-and-back will add another ~2 miles).

From the trail junction, the northern segment of the Paint Branch Trail drops down to cross the namesake creek (Paint Branch) before exiting the woods and travels along Timberlake Rd. At the southern end of Timberlake Rd, you'll see a kiosk with a large map, take a right before the pond to regain the trail.

The trail leaves the stream corridor and climbs onto a wooded hill. You'll see the Maydale Trail on your right (add this for a fun addition of ~1.6 miles) or stay left to stay on the northern segment of the Paint Branch Trail.

The trail currently ends at Kaywood Lane, you'll have to ride a bit of road to connect with the central portion of the Paint Branch Trail.
