Overview

This loop ride combines a handful of trails on a mixture of treads and widths from singletrack to doubletrack, gravel and pavement through varying terrain in the D.C. suburbs.

Description

Nothing very technical here - a few short, steep climbs, nothing too taxing, but still a fun ride, particularly on the northern section of the Northwest Branch Trail.

The singletrack is typical for this area - some roots and rocks, and quite narrow and twisty in places. Be aware of several road crossings, and a couple of very short on-road sections where riders should watch out for traffic.

There is one stream crossing where you'll have to ride or wade through the stream i.e. no rocks or stepping stones to walk across.
