Description
TL;DR: Loop from N Kenter Ave (w/ optional detour up
Lower Canyon Back Trail) to The Whoops Trail to
Casa Viejo Trail.
Start in Crestwood Hills around the intersection of N Kenter Ave and Honeywood Rd. Street parking is easily available. Climb up steep N Kenter Ave through the Mid-Century homes. Enter the Kenter Fire Road through the gate. After the short uphill, take a right turn onto the dirt trail (
Lower Canyon Back Trail) that leads up towards the water tower.
Ride down the trail back to the Kenter Fire Road and continue up the fire road until you've reached the intersection to The Whoops Trail. (For an easier climb, take Kenter Fire road for the entire ascent). The intersection to The Whoops Trail is alongside a cable fence as the trail flattens out and as you approach the fifth power line tower. You'll see homes in Mandeville Canyon below and great views of the Santa Monica Mountains to your left.
Ride the fun singletrack through the whoop-de-doo jumps until you're spit out back on the Kenter fire road. Take a right to continue downhill on the fire road. As the fire road begins to slope uphill, take a right onto the dirt trail (
Casa Viejo Trail). Continue down on the winding singletrack trail through both chainlink gates. Enjoy the views of the Brentwood estates. As the trail intersects with a few homes, climb down the wooden steps onto Teakwood Rd. Take the first left onto Honeywood Rd back to where you began on N Kenter Ave.
