Description

High Shoals Road starts at Amicalola Creek Road (FS 46) just north of the namesake state park. The road is wide and graveled for the first half mile up to a church and after that it becomes a very rough doubletrack with deep ruts, prone to mud pit formation after a good rain. After you ford Anderson Creek, the road dead ends at some private property.

On older maps FS 357A starts at the end of High Shoals Road, connecting with Anderson Creek Road (FS 357) further to the north to make a nice loop. The roadbed for FS 357A still exists (roadbeds are hard to destroy) but the southern end is too rutted to ride, the central part is overgrown with young trees, and the upper part has some massive downed tress across it.
