Need to Know

Use your bells on this trail!!! Watch but maintain a good speed to keep momentum to avoid being hung up on drops and chunk but not so fast that you'll nail a headphone-wearing hiker.

Look out for Rattlers in the summer months! They'll bite your ass if you're not careful.

Currently, I don't think there's a shuttle service available (my uncle drives me and my cuz up) so you'll need to arrange for that on your own. Full-face and pads recommended, but not necessarily needed—just don't fall damn it!

Description

*Ride served best when shuttled.*

Tons of white knuckle fun! Great views of the ocean. Very rocky with some exposure, chunky drops, and tire grabbing square edges. A little similar to Simi Valley with a dash of San Gabriel scrubbery with ocean views.

Trailhead starts off to the left side of the road, East Camino Cielo—look for the boulders by the trailhead and other DH bros prepping for the crazy mission ahead. Start early and USE YOUR F@*%#!!! BELL! This trail can be popular on the weekends especially on Sundays! Don't run over hikers or they'll take away the trail.

The trail is pretty obvious to follow but your line choices not so much—think fast. Some shady flow at the start but that ends fast as rocks start to rattle your teeth—some areas are tight and dangerous to your lowers. You don't need a DH bike to ride this. It wouldn't hurt to have one, but any 4" or 6" and above rig will do.

If you're not feeling it or all your bikes bearings are starting to come loose you can eject Tunnel about three-quarters of the way down to connect (on the left) onto Spyglass Ridge Rd where the trail will be more forgiving. Watch your speed when you get to the fire road at the bottom (The End), as there are many hikers along this section, so chill. You'll end your ride at Tunnel Road.
